WHAT IS COMPUTER GUIDED DENTAL IMPLANT SURGERY

Guided implant surgery is the process of planning the implant surgery on a computer using the patient’s CT image. The conventional method of using the patient’s panoramic x-ray to plan implant surgery cannot transfer the planning exactly as planned, however, guided implant surgery can transfer the plan as exactly as the doctor plans on the computer.

HOW IT IS DONE ?

1. INITIAL CONSULTATION

First we examine your teeth clinically and discuss about the guided implants .. You will educated more on the Guided implant procedure and how its being done .

2. 3D SCAN

Next , 3D Scan will be taken to determine the bone density and quality . .

3. INTRA ORAL DIGITAL SCANNING

Followed by the xray , Intra oral Scan is taken to be sent to the lab .

4. PLANNING

The scanned data is sent to the respective lab . The lab with the help of 3D XRAY and the Intra oral scanned data will proceed with the planning of the IMPLANT PLACEMENT .
Digital planning is done and a guide will be made ready . This guide is designed for proper drilling technique and the implant placement along with the implant sizes . Hence its called computer guided implant Surgery .

5. PLACEMENT OF IMPLANT

Once we receive the guide from the lab , we plan for the surgery . First the guide is fitted properly in place and drilling procedure is done through the guide as mentioned in the planning and the Implant placement is done . .

6. PROVISIONAL PROSTHESIS :

After the implant placement , provisional prosthesis is fitted immediately which will be later replaced to permanent ceramic or zirconia crowns .
