Delaying appropriate dental treatment is the main culprit, which leads into end stage dental problems leading finally to dental implants

Common reasons why people delay dental are,
  1. Fear of dentist
  2. Fear of injection
  3. Fear of drill
How to avoid dental implants:
  • To brush twice a day with fluoridated toothpaste
  • To follow proper brushing method
    – To hold the toothbrush at 45 degree angle to the gum line
    – Give gentle vibratory pressure, using short back and forth motion
    – To brush inside of your upper and lower front teeth hold the brush vertically and give gentle back and forth strokes
    – To brush at least 2-3- minutes
    – Avoid brushing more than 3 minutes
  • Take only pea sized toothpaste for brushing
  • To clean the tongue with tongue cleaner
  •  To give gentle massage on gums with fingers to keep the gums healthy
  • To use medium tooth brush, avoid brushing with extra soft and hard bristled tooth brush
  •  Change your tooth brush once in 3 months
  • Floss daily to clean deposits in between teeth
  •  To gargle after taking every food
  • To take nutritious food
    – calcium rich food(e.g. nuts, beans, carrot, citrus fruits, fish, dairy foods, green tea)
    – green leafy vegetables
    – almonds
  • To avoid sticky foods like chips, biscuits and candy’s
  •  To avoid frequent snacking
  • To avoid aerated soft drinks
  • To drink at least 2 litres of water in a day
  • Visit your dentist once in 6 months or at least once in a year
